Blandy Sketch Group's Annual Members Show
at the State Arboretum (Blandy Experimental Farm), Boyce Virginia
October 2- November 6, 2008
Artists' Reception Sunday October 12, 2008, 2- 5pm

This show and sale will feature the works of members, depicting artwork based on "The Natural World."  All works will be original, hand-applied artwork of various mediums, and most will be available for purchase.  Part of the proceeds will support Blandy and their various programs.  The show will coincide with Blandy's ArborFest, which occurs on October 11 and 12 from 10am- 4:30pm. 

Taken from their website:  "Held each Columbus Day Weekend, ArborFest is the Arboretum’s fall festival and plant sale. Hours are 10 to 4:30 both Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. In addition to a selection of plants divided or propagated from the Arboretum grounds, ArborFest includes a variety of plants for sale by carefully selected high-quality vendors. Activities include scarecrow making and nature walks for kids as well as guided Arboretum walks, bird walks, and hay rides."

 Some of the members of the Blandy Sketch Group will be at the event, painting "en plein aire."  Come out and see the spectacular grounds of the Arboretum, as well as observing Artists at work!

Art at the Mill Fall Show
Burwell Morgan Mill, Millwood VA
October 4-19, 2008
Artists' Reception Sunday October 5, 2008 2-5pm

This show and sale is highly anticipated each season, and showcases all original work from Artists far and wide.  All works at this event are available for purchase, and part of the proceeds benefit the Clarke County Historical Association as well as the Sarah P. Trumbower memorial scholarship.  (more information and directions available on their website)

First Night Winchester Juried Regional Art Show
Creekside on Valley Avenue, Winchester VA
October 11-19, 2008
Opening October 11 to coincide with Creekside's Fall Festival

The location of the show is to be announced when the date draws nearer... it will be in an empty storefront in Creekside on Valley Avenue in Winchester.  The First Night Winchester organization is hosting this art show, not to be confused with First Night Winchester, which is an event that occurs on New Years Eve each year.  The show and sale will consist of artwork of all media, and part of the proceeds will help fund other First Night Winchester events.
